The head of the National Authority for Remote Sensing and
Space Sciences, Dr. Islam Abu Al-Magd, participated in the valuable lecture
organized by the Egyptian scientific complex, chaired by Dr. Farouk Ismail and
the secretariat of Dr. Mohamed El-Shernobi, entitled "Space and Remote
Sensing in Egypt: Between Reality and Hope," in the presence of an elite
of dignitaries, ministers, ambassadors, university presidents, experts,
professors of universities and research centers.
During the lecture, Dr. Islam Abu Al-Magd presented Egypt's pioneering
experience in space and remote sensing, addressing various aspects of this
field, starting from Egypt ' s leadership on the continent of Africa, through
frameworks and the best way to achieve an economic and leadership return on the
continent, to Egypt ' s developments in satellite construction, operation and
utilization of its data.
Dr. Abu Al magd highlighted the numerous services and outputs provided by the
National Remote Sensing and Space Science Authority, aimed at supporting
sustainable development efforts in Egypt and strengthening the research system.
He also addressed the possibilities for cooperation in this area at the local
and continental levels and presented his vision of what these advanced
technologies could achieve in the future.
The lecture was of great interest to the audience, who discussed various space
and remote sensing issues in Egypt with Dr. Abu Al-Magd.
This lecture is an important step towards enhancing awareness of the importance
of space and remote sensing in Egypt, highlighting Egypt's outstanding
achievements in this area and contributing to new prospects for cooperation and
exchange of experiences at the local and continental levels.
