Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of
Higher Education and Scientific Research, stressed the importance of
strengthening cooperation between the Ministry's research agencies and
industry, making use of outstanding research products and converting them to
products of economic value, taking advantage of the research facilities'
potential, using them to develop local industry and supporting the national
economy.
In this context, Dr. Islam Abu Al-Magd, Chairman of the National Authority for
Remote Sensing and Space Science, held a meeting with representatives of an
iron factory to discuss ways of cooperation between the two sides.
During the meeting, Dr. Islam Abu Al-Magd gave an introduction to the
Authority, its establishment, divisions and sections, as well as to the
possibilities of the Aerial Photo and Aviation Division, as well as to the
importance of having the first laser technology plant inside Egypt.
The meeting discussed ways of cooperating between the Authority and one of the
iron factories in the current three-dimensional lift of the ground laser and
the future air laser. The Authority's potential for filming the iron plant with
laser technology was presented and the current status of the plant was
developed with a accuracy of up to a millimeter to assist in the management and
maintenance of the plant.
Studies on environmental pollution and the importance of the role of the
Authority in assisting the Ezz Steel factory in carrying out comprehensive
studies on environmental pollution and products of dust and pollutants have
also been presented.
The meeting witnessed presentations by the Geology Division, its importance in
the exploration of iron metal, the most important places where remote sensing
exploration would be preferable, as well as presentations on groundwater,
factors affecting its presence and liquidity.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Ilham Mahmoud Ali, Professor of the Environment
and Engineer Asmaa Mandoh of the Aerial Photography Division, Engineer Abdul
Rahman Ali of the Global Satellite Navigation System Services, Dr. Safwat Gabr,
Professor of the Geology Division on the Risks of floods, Dr. Fouad Sadik and
Dr. Salim Mahir, Professors of Mineral Exploration.
