Egypt is participating in the Conference "New Space Africa" to discuss the most important space topics on the continent of Africa

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Ayman Ashour, stressed the interest of the Egyptian State in cooperating with various African countries in many areas of common interest, noting the growing interest in space technology-related areas where Egypt is seeking to assert its leadership at the continental level in this important area.
In this context, Dr. Islam Abu Al-Magd, Adviser to the Minister for African Affairs and Space Technology, on behalf of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, participated in the New Space Africa Conference organized by the African Union in cooperation with the State of Angola entitled "Steps advanced in space" and is the largest event to discuss space issues on the African continent.
Dr. Islam Abu Al-Magd addressed the opening session, which discussed the most important space topics on the continent of Africa, and highlighted the advanced steps Egypt is making at the local and continental levels, as the leading space nation of the continent of Africa.
In his statement, Dr. Abu Al-Magd emphasized Egypt's position as a leading space-related State, which was able to host the African Space Agency for its outstanding scientific, technological and human capabilities, reviewing Egypt's support to the Agency through the provision and equipping of the building.
Dr. Abu Al-Magd reviewed Egypt's advanced space infrastructure, which includes satellites, from the launch of the Egyptian satellite Sat 1 to the present, referring to the role of the Egyptian State in human capacity-building through attention to space and remote sensing programmes and their applications at different universities.
The Minister's Adviser emphasized the Egyptian State's interest in supporting the course of technical and technological education through the establishment of technological universities, which offer modern study programmes to contribute to the rehabilitation of qualified graduates and trainers in the various engineering sectors serving the space field.
It also emphasized Egypt's ownership of reception stations, laboratories, integrated infrastructure and human resources, which could provide the African continent with a great deal of space science and technology and its applications for the purpose of sustainable development and the realization of Africa's Agenda 2063, and thanked the African Union for its progress in the implementation and operation of the African Space Agency, hosted by the Arab Republic of Egypt
